But, just one or two reminders first:

Inevitably, someone doesn't read the rules before they sign-up. Some of us are seasoned mods, so we speak from experience. So we're going to stress this again. Read.The.Rules. We've linked to them above in the first line. The community rules are highly, highly important. And just so you know, every time someone reads the rules, Brian Kinney gets laid. We all want to do our part to support his sex life, right?

There are no restrictions on how many times a prompt can be claimed. If you don't want to create for a prompt that a lot of folks are creating for, just skim the sign-up forms below to see what's popular.

You may only claim one prompt at a time. After you turn in your submission and the mods have approved it, you may claim another.

The gay bars on Liberty Avenue are known for nothing if not their colorful array of contests and themed parties. In going back to Babylon this summer, the mods have selected a handful of memorable events from the show to draw inspiration from and, hopefully, respark your creative flames.

Much like last year's fest, each event will have five subcategories: image, quote, place, item/word/concept, and song. The prompts that follow relate heavily or loosely to their event category, and as always, your mod team has done their best to select a variety of prompts that lend themselves to countless interpretations.

Remember, when selecting a prompt for this fest, you will be selecting an event and a subcategory. When providing the mods with your prompt selection in the sign up post, you will, for example, put Dyke Night - Image. Please do not select an event only.

Welcome to our summer fest at Woody's Place, everyone! As you may know, June is a pretty big month for not just the LGBTQ community because of annual Pride events, but the QAF community as well. We celebrated at the Rise ‘n Shine Convention in LA, and coming up on June 18th is the 6th annual B/J Cuddle Day! Woody's Place will be holding its own celebrations this summer, and we want you to come along for the ride!

Our theme this summer is Back to Babylon, and the mods are gathering together a number of prompts that evoke the spirit of Babylon and a return to generating excitement within our fandom.

Below you will find the rules and submission information for the fest. Please be sure to read the rules very thoroughly, as most questions that participants have can be answered here. Hello Everyone!

I hope you're all busy working on your fills for the free-for-all meme as the deadline is tonight, just about 11hrs from now. Either that or battening down the hatches if you're on the east coast!

Guidelines:

As usual all community rules and meme guidelines apply to this mini-fest. Yes, you're welcome to fill prompts with fanworks other than fanfiction! Fills can be as diverse as: cartoons, drabbles, icons, banners, vids, 5 sentence fic, epic tales (but see guidelines Re: WIPs), etc.

This meme is NOT anonymous, which means that you should will be prompting, filling prompts, and commenting on fills with you LJ username (or other open id).

Please only include one prompt per comment, but feel free to leave as many prompts as you wish.

We welcome all sorts of prompts; from Gen, to rare pairs, background characters coming to the forefront (hey Todd), pwp, kink, kid!fic, angst, fluff, AU, or your favorite OTP.

Multiple fills per request are fine, but please do try to fill unfilled prompts as well.

When filling a prompt, please post any necessary warnings at the beginning of your post.

The meme will run for four weeks (until October 29th at 11:59 PM EST).

Hi Everyone!

We're a week into the kink meme mini-fest and we just wanted to update everyone on what's been going on.

So far, there are 75 Prompts and 4 of those have been filled. Fantastic start! A Delicious account masterlist has been set up to keep track of the fills. Don't forget to leave our writers some love. The fills thus far have been fantastic!

In case you missed it, here's the Official Post where the prompts and fills are located. There are also additional notes and posting tips you should check out there. Please read them carefully.

Some other things to note:

For those who are not familiar with kink memes, we encourage the OP (original poster) of a prompt to track it so that if potential fillers have questions, you'll get a notification about it.

On the flipside of that, if the OP is non-responsive to the potential filler's questions after a day or two, then the filler should go ahead and interpret the prompt as best they can or however they feel comfortable.

Keep those fills (and prompts) coming! Remember, if there's lots of activity, we'll likely extend the fest beyond the August 3rd end date.

Hello, folkers!

I'd like to make a few quick announcements concerning the future of this community.

First, we're welcoming the lovely

mander3_swish to the mod team. Most of you have probably seen her around these parts or are friends with her already. I've no doubt she's going to be an asset to the community!

Second, the dog days of summer have officially arrived and with them come some scorching temperatures. Here at

woodys_place, we're going to be turning up the heat as well! The patrons of this fine establishment have spoken, and everyone seemed receptive to the idea of a kink meme. Kink memes are very low key mini-fests, so those of you with work/families/other responsibilities shouldn't have any problems participating, if you have the itch. Look for more details about the kink meme over the next few days.

As stated in the fest timeline, posting kicks off for Pride in the Pitts on Friday, June 1st, to coincide with the start of Pittsburgh Pride 2012. There are a lot of exciting fanworks that I'm sure everyone will enjoy!

Since we have exactly ten fanworks for the fest, posting will run from June 1st-June 9th. One day we'll likely double up on our graphics submissions. I'll be out of town on the 10th (in Pittsburgh for Pride, no less), so that's the reason for the double posting on one day. You can expect a masterlist of all fanworks to be posted sometime on Monday, June 11th, as well as a feedback post on how the fest can be improved upon.

A reminder to those participating: you may repost your fanwork as soon as it goes up on the community but not before, please.

It's Saturday, Folkers, which means that we're officially past the submission deadline! At this point in time, I've responded to every email/PM I've received, including extension requests and submissions. If you've not heard from me, something has gone awry somewhere, and I ask that you contact me as soon as possible. There's a couple participants I haven't heard from, and emails to those folks have been sent out.

Please note that I do confirm that I've received your submission via a reply to your submission email. Usually I try to do that within 24 hours, but when the mod email gets flooded, it can take sometimes up to 48 hours. If you do not hear from me within 48 hours of submitting your fest fanwork, please don't hesitate to contact me at the mod email, mod LJ account, or my personal account (

museme87). I've had a couple rough experiences in the past with gmail not cooperating, so I try to cover my bases at this point in the fest.

That's about it! The fanworks I've received so far are awesome, so I think you're all in for a treat. Once I get all the submissions in, I'll post a posting schedule.
